As part of The Gas Phase Solution Division (GPSD), The Application Chemist Manager will have overall responsibility for application chemists within GPSD marketing responsible for the creation of collateral that highlights the gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy portfolio. This includes developing technical marketing strategies and creating programs that improve client satisfaction and dedication to the Agilent brand! You'll work closely with the field technical sales organization establishing collaborations with key opinion leaders for the development of innovative applications as well as GPSD R&D in the formation of new products and technologies.

Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Leading the GPSD Marketing Application Chemists in Delaware and Shanghai, setting clear objectives and defining strategic goals for the team.
  • Develop and integrate dedicated GC/GCMS application solutions for the Food, Environmental, Energy & Chemical, Forensics, Pharmaceutical, and Academic market segments.
  • Coordinate closely with the Mass Spectroscopy and Industry Marketing teams for the alignment and prioritization of application and technical collateral.
  • Lead the technical introduction for new products, driving the "re-skilling" of the sales force, and field support teams where needed.
  • Manage a marketing laboratory to ensure compliance to Agilent EHS policies and requirements
  • Advanced Degree, PH.D or equivalent in analytical chemistry desired.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in leading a growing organization by setting and meeting goals and motivating cross-functional international teams.
  • 5+ years career experience in the gas-chromatography-instrumentation systems business particularly with the build out and marketing of breakthrough technologies
  • Track record of results in developing/improving customer access and relationship between sales and service organizations.
  • Experience in working with worldwide customers and being a strong internal advocate for client-centered solutions and application driven development.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. Ability to convey Agilent's product solution vision and market strategy to internal and external partners.
  • Must have flexibility in working hours and available for 25% national & international business travel
