KCI is building a growing team focusing on LAND DEVELOPMENT in Delaware. Our team has immediate openings to support the Land Development team with engineering and project management services. We provide Land Development and site design services to private and public clients focused on subdivision and land development, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, and state and local permitting.

Serve on multiple project teams and support the development of the civil/site designs and drawings
• Prepare and maintain CAD models, engineer drawings and maps for surveying, commercial, industrial and institutional land development projects. Design includes grading, preparing digital terrain models, pipe networks, alignments, profiles, sections and drafting as part of completing conceptual, preliminary and final designs for regulatory development review and construction document submittals.
• Interact with clients, meet with municipalities/jurisdictions to represent the project and client at meetings, coordinate the design with stakeholders for permitting and regulatory approvals.
• One or more of the following:
  • In a supervisory capacity plans, develops, coordinates, and directs a large and important project or a number of small projects with complex features. A substantial portion of the work supervised is comparable to that descripted for a Sr. Design Engineer.
  • As individual researcher or worker, carries out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or imported techniques and procedures. Work is expected to result in the development of new or refined equipment, materials, processes, products and or scientific methods
  • As a staff specialist, develops and evaluates plans and criteria for a variety of projects and activities to be carried out by others. Assesses the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests, products or equipment. Usually performs as a staff advisor and consultant as to a technical specialty.
• PE or RLA required. (PA PE preferred)
• Candidate must have worked on all phases of design and have been involved in industry related services of a project.
• Good problem solving, communication, and technical writing skills are required. A solid background of reliability, commitment to task and project completion and success is required.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in both team-focused and independent situations. Ability to work both in the office and remotely as a part of a collaborative, effective, and fun team.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Appropriate graduate level work is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 - 9 years of professional experience.
• Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

• Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
• Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
• Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
• Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
• Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
• Complete other duties as required/assigned
• Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(75%-80% typical)
• Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks
• Chart and provide task performance results
• Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
• Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
• Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
• Prepare interpractice agreements and/or outside requests as required
• Provide technical project and staff oversight
• Serve as task manager on select projects
• Compare field data to base plan
• Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval
• Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval
• Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job
• Review and approve shop drawings
• Complete Annual Individual Training Program
