Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (UA Cossatot) began in DeQueen, Arkansas in 1975 as an Arkansas Vocational-Technical School, designed to provide relevant workforce training for four counties in southwest Arkansas. https://www.cccua.edu/jobsSummary of Job Duties:Our Public Safety Officers work under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor of Facilities and are responsible for the enforcement of traffic and criminal laws, parking regulations, making student identification cards, and other duties regarding campus safety and patronage assistance.

*This position is governed by law enforcement standards and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:
  • Must be able to be certified as a Law Enforcement Officer by the Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training in accordance with ACA 12-9-101 through 12-9-109.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Free of felony convictions
  • Free of domestic violence convictions
  • Be of good moral character
  • Knowledge of public safety policies, methods and techniques
  • Ability to conduct and direct fire and safety inspections
  • Must have the ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Must be able to build and maintain a rapport with students, faculty and staff and interact with them daily


Additional Information:

Salary Information:
