Job Description

The Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting and documenting complex financial projects. This is the most senior skill level, without supervisory responsibility. Job may provide advice or training to less experienced financial analyst jobs. This position is in our Global Industrial Finance Organization, located in Naperville, IL. Reporting to the Sales Analysis & Planning Manager, this position will be responsible for providing direct financial support to the Global Industrial Division teams on reporting initiatives. This position will be expected to understand Global Industrial's various customer programs and act as a business partner to the finance and sales teams through BI and Power BI reporting, development of performance dashboards, and ongoing improvement projects. This position will also work closely with other internal departments as needed to support the responsibilities noted below.

What You Will Do:

  • Work directly with the Sales Analysis & Planning Manager and divisional finance teams to support existing reporting utilizing SAP, BI (BEx), Power BI, and Excel

  • Work with Microsoft Dynamics CRM to analyze and report on net new business and other KPIs

  • Support expansion of Power BI-based sales, operating and working capital dashboard reporting

  • Develop best in practice tools and consistent standardized reporting dashboards for divisional finance partners and senior management

  • Support machine-learning initiatives

  • Continually identify and execute process improvements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field, MBA preferred

  • 2 years of work experience; 1 year of corporate/operational finance

  • Prior experience working with large data sets, data analytics, margin improvement projects and pricing requests preferred

  • Power BI experience or Tableau

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Prior experience working with financial data and financial reporting systems

  • Highly proficient in Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity; able to self-manage well; highly accountable

  • Result oriented; proactive; and possesses a high level of integrity

  • SAP and BI (BEx) experience

  • Dynamics CRM or Salesforce experience

  • Local candidates preferred
