The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization. Position Summary:

NRDC is seeking a Senior Advertising Manager to run our digital advertising program in the Communications department in our New York City office. This position will report to the Senior Director, Digital Advocacy and Fundraising. The Senior Advertising Manager will oversee the development and management of advertising campaigns with advocacy, marketing, and acquisition goals, coordinating internal advertising requests across the organization, and coordinating the efforts of advertising vendors. The position will oversee the Digital Marketing & Acquisition Specialist and be responsible for managing the intake process for ad requests coming from a variety of NRDC teams and departments, coordinating implementation, identifying target audiences, testing, serving, monitoring, and reporting back on the results of ads.

Responsibilities
    Plan and execute advertising campaigns for audience engagement and activation.
  • Serve as the first point of intake contact with internal teams on all digital ad requests.
  • Implement and optimize digital advertising campaigns across channels and campaigns, including display, retargeting, video, mobile, SEM and social advertising.
  • Assist in ensuring ad campaigns are helping NRDC achieve its advocacy, audience, marketing, and fundraising goals.
  • Place and monitor media buys and make adjustments as necessary to optimize results.
  • Identify and manage target audiences for advertising running at the national and state/local level.
  • Experience developing advertising campaigns for new audiences across multiple channels.
  • Oversee implementation of segmentation and audience management across digital platforms.
  • Project manage advertising and manage advertising from intake to placement and reporting.
  • Develop media plans and research new advertising opportunities and stay on top of advertising trends.
  • Work with vendors who assist in execution and placement of some ad campaigns.
  • Assist in the development of advertising tests involving tactics, audiences, creative, messaging, etc.
  • Report out on the performance of advertising campaigns and adjust strategy based on the results.
  • Oversee efforts of the Digital Marketing & Acquisition Specialist and other relevant team members.
  • Work closely with stakeholders and vendors on testing and placement of digital ads.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years experience in digital advertising operations.
  • Experience working in all aspects of campaign management including audience identification, setup, ad trafficking, optimizations, and reporting and analysis.
  • Experience working in advertising campaigns including programmatic display, paid social and paid search, including using platforms like Google Campaign Manager, Google Display, Video 360, and Facebook ads.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with multiple projects.
  • Experience working in the advocacy and fundraising space and a love for digital campaigning.
  • Experience managing direct reports.

We offer competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary is based on a nonprofit scale and commensurate with skills and experience. Salary minimum is $85,000; salary midpoint is $97,500. Salary may be higher as appropriate for the selected candidate, with internal equity considerations taken into account.
