Job Description
The rigger/operator combination is responsible for the safe operation of a 4100 friction crane, crawler crane, cherry picker, forklift, or any designated piece of equipment. Mobile equipment operators must constantly be responsible for attending to hand signals for guidance, and may also assist in the maintenance of their rig, and will participate in doing some of their own rigging.
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:  The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

The mobile equipment operator is responsible for the safe operation of a crawler crane, cherry picker, forklift, or any designated piece of equipment. Hand levers and foot controls are manipulated to raise and lower the crane boom and load line, and to steer and rotate the chassis while moving structural components and materials within the shipyard. Job orders are compiled from leader man and mobile equipment operator must constantly be responsible for attending to hand signals for guidance. Mobile equipment operators may also assist in the maintenance of their rig and will participate in doing some of their own rigging. Mobile equipment operator combination performs the same duties as a Rigger Operator 1st Class, but with additional duties and responsibilities and can do them with more efficiency and accuracy. Rigger Operator Combination has more experience and understanding on overhead cranes, heavy lift cranes, cherry pickers, forklifts, load charts, load limits, and all aspects of the machinery and lifting loads. He/she can do higher production with minimal supervision or errors. Capable of doing multiple jobs and not limited to one type. They are also competent on rigging practices to ensure safe load transportation.

The above description is general in nature. A mobile equipment operator combination may be required to perform other related duties not described herein.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
A minimum of prior experience as a mobile equipment operator is required. A new hire will undergo a performance evaluation to verify proficiency before being granted a position as a mobile equipment operator. STEHMO will grant the mobile equipment operator with a license that states which equipment the operator is authorized to operate.
Operator needs to have experience running a Lattice boom crawler
