JOB DESCRIPTION
The Position

The Marketing Manager, Sequencing Promotion, develops and executes strategies and tactics for the US Affiliate Marketing Department of the Sequencing & Life Science business unit. This position works with Marketing colleagues to promote products and services and across the entire Sequencing & Life Science portfolio. This position will lead and support marketing-related activities including, but not limited to:

  • Design and develop strategic promotional programs, both in-bound and out-bound, across the portfolio and to targeted customer segments
  • Manage the planning of promotional marketing campaigns and lead-generation activities, including messaging, communication vehicles (e.g., social media), collateral, digital advertising, trade shows, white papers, and educational material
  • Drive alignment with colleagues in Marketing Communications Sales, Lead Generation, and Operations to ensure the successful execution of those campaigns and to monitor their effectiveness.
  • Work with fellow Marketing Managers to strengthen their promotion of individual product lines in strategic campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the leadership of Sales and Marketing, Global partners, and local Sales and Support & Applications teams to create continuous alignment for business strategy and tactics and help the Sales teams reach their revenue goals
  • Advise and manage stakeholders by reporting on special projects, business challenges, and opportunities to senior management
  • Instill leadership through others by acting as a role model to drive impactful business solutions and positive change, encouraging, motivating, and empowering others and helping others to succeed.
  • Post-pandemic, leverage targeted field travel with the Sales Force to better understand customer requirements and validate promotional messaging.

Who You Are:

  • Possess documented success in the development and execution of lead-generating and awareness-building campaigns for a technical product line, preferably in the life sciences

  • Preference for candidates with knowledge of and experience in next-generation sequencing

  • Exhibit strong team leadership skills and demonstrated ability to work well with others

  • Preference for candidates with experience leveraging Salesforce.com CRM and Marketo

  • Possess strong project management skills

  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, the Life Sciences, or related field

  • Have 5 years of marketing, sales, or related business experience

  • Have the ability to travel domestically as needed

  • Reside in or willing to relocate to the Indianapolis, IN, area.
