Job Description

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Use high voltage and high current test equipment
  • Perform wiring accordingly to electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Use specialized, computer-assisted test equipment
  • Apply mathematics to solve electrical formulas
  • Verify the integrity of wiring, wire harnesses, and sophisticated electromechanical assemblies
  • Read and evaluate electrical schematics and circuits
  • Use computers to configure electronic controls for testing and to meet customer requirements
  • Complete detailed production checklists and production reports
  • Occasionally perform product assembly, as required
  • Use Hi-Pot testing equipment
  • Fully understand the electrical functions of a single product line, including all design features
  • Troubleshoot electrical assemblies to meet design criteria

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:

  • One to three years of electrical testing experience or equivalent education (i.e. Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology)
  • Ability to read simple to complex blueprints, wiring drawings, schematic diagrams, and specifications
  • Knowledge in the use of multimeters and other electrical testing equipment
  • Basic understanding of High-Pot testing, Partial Discharge and Corona Testing
  • Good PC skills
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing: Some tasks require standing with intermittent walking
  • Lifting: Infrequent lifting up to 20 lbs., occasionally up to 50 lbs
  • Walking: Occasional walking short distances to obtain parts and equipment for testing
  • Carrying: Infrequent carrying up to 20 lbs. short distances
  • Pushing: Infrequent pushing up to 50 lbs
  • Pulling: Infrequent pulling up to 50 lbs
  • Bending: Minimal bending required
  • Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the waist.
