As a Mill Metal Worker, will perform various assigned, simple machine operating duties including swaging, feeding parts/material, cutting to lengths, handling, measuring, marking, inspecting, deburring, etc., in order to finish or cut/grind parts as instructed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in accordance with company specifications, following prescribed methods.
Check parts/materials to process sheets/drawings to get lengths.
Hold/position parts such as rods, tubing, etc., into machine to designated stops.
Set stops to specified lengths as required.
Operate machine levers/arms to cut parts/material to proper lengths.
Load containers with parts.
Inspect parts for proper cut sizes and check visually for burrs, defects, marks, etc.
As required, deburr rough, sharp ends of cut parts using grinders.
Refer problems to supervisor.
Move parts between operations as required.
Maintain necessary records.
Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to supervisor.
Maintain work area and equipment in clean, safe, and orderly condition,
Follow established company rules and regulations, safety precautions, and maintain quality standards.
Perform other related duties as required or as directed.
High school or equivalent.
Entry level, some experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Be able to work from process sheets and follow verbal instructions from supervisor.
Some experience with large/small cut-off machines equipped with carbide/standard cutting tools, grinding, polishing machines, files, rulers, hand tools and related tools and safety equipment, preferred
Requires the use of arithmetic including decimals and fractions; simple use of drawings, prints, specifications and work orders, use of adjustable measuring equipment, where interpretation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand.
