We are currently seeking a Naval Architect/Marine Engineer for our Practice in Southern California. In this role, you will work as part of a team, consulting on a wide variety of naval architecture and marine engineering issues. Project applications may span industrial processes, utilities, transportation, energy, manufacturing, marine, construction, defense, and more.

You will be responsible for:

You will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering or equivalent, preferably with some hands-on industrial, shipyard, and/or shipboard work experience
  • Ability to perform inspections at industrial locations, shipyards, and aboard marine vessels
  • Specialized knowledge in naval architecture and fluid mechanics and experience applying computational and analytical tools such as for computational fluid dynamics, seakeeping prediction, and hydrostatic stability analysis
  • Experience with using and interpreting results from naval architecture/ship stability software such as GHS or HECSALV
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent project ownership such as tenacity, resourcefulness, technical curiosity and engagement and a high degree of attention to detail, quality, and technical rigor
  • Adaptable team worker with an aptitude for technical and project managerial leadership, as well as entrepreneurial proclivity
  • Must be able to effectively conceptualize and convey complex technical information
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice and for longer periods of time
