Remove castings from sprues, gates, and risers using abrasive cut off, plasma torch cut off, and or band saw cut off by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Remove castings from sprues by abrasive wheel cut off, plasma torch cut off, and or band saw cut off.
Chip ceramic from gates before plasma cutting.
Set up and maintains plasma torch and electrodes.
Keep castings and paperwork together but separate by heat number.
Cut casting off as close as possible to minimize grinding without damage to casting.
Fill out daily production cards.
Mark and tags all returns going into metal hoppers with "R" number, alloy, initials, and date.
Performs duties in a safe manner and follows all of the safety procedures.
Undergoes required training in applicable work instructions, Quality Assurance procedures, and quality polices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
