LinkedIn Job Search: True Story of a LinkedIn Letter that got Noticed!
One of my most popular workshops and career coaching topics is "LinkedIn Email Outreach Letters." Many people want to do this, but aren't sure how to navigate the technical intricacies and the etiquette.

Recently, I helped a new, business client optimize his LinkedIn profile to attract employers. We optimized all the key sections based on his strengths and career goals. Then, we crafted a targeted LinkedIn Letter to a recruiter at one of his favorite companies. Below is the response to his letter (with the names changed for confidentiality).

The recruiter was so impressed, that not only did she write back, she suggested a job match and encouraged him submit a resume directly. Plus, as you can see she was selling him on the benefits of working for this company!

Below is my clients' response. He was interested in the company, and this was his first contact with one of the company recruiters. His stayed focused on his goal, but inquired about 2 other jobs they had posted on LinkedIn. Keep in mind that at this point it is a 2 way dialogue with the actual hiring manager. How different is this than a random job application.

Next, the recruiter called my client directly and offered a phone screening interview. My client passed and was promoted to 2 more rounds of interviews. In the end, he received an offer. Mission accomplished.
