Job Description

INVISTA Victoria, TX is currently seeking an Instrument and Electrical Planner to join the team.


Our Team

This role works closely with the Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability groups in troubleshooting, and planning repairs and upgrades to process equipment. You will be expected to create value and drive transformation. You will enable stable and reliable operation through effective planning, prioritization, and application of Principle Based Management.


What You Will Do

  • Support the execution of maintenance work by receiving work notifications, reviewing scope, planning, estimating, and putting maintenance activities and materials into work orders for instrument and electrical equipment including instrumentation, control valves, motors, breakers, etc.
  • Scope work and asses the requirements for routine, annual planned and unplanned outages.
  • Use SAP to manage work orders, facilitate material/services for maintenance work, and determine the need for non-stock material or external vendor services.
  • Work with vendors to obtain competitive estimates for material pricing and on-site services.
  • Identify dates when equipment and material will be required to meet schedules and confirm availability with suppliers and schedulers.
  • Monitor area-specific Leankit data to determine material staging dates and update all work orders with status and eta of materials on order.
  • Collaborate with Planners, MACs, & Reliability Engineers to optimize and improve PM strategies.
  • Create, update, and maintain equipment PM Plans, BOM's, Task Lists, etc. in SAP.
  • Leverage industry-leading technologies and best practices to remove barriers and constraints within the work process.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 5 or more years of experience working with instrumentations and electrical equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment.
  • 3 years minimum instrumentation and electrical experience.
  • Experience using SAP.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in periods of peak work volume.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • 5 or more years of industry-related experience performing I&E repairs and ordering electrical and instrumentation parts and materials.
  • Proficient in SAP skills such as changing work orders, planning work orders, generating requisitions for ordering the material, and requisitions for offsite contractor services.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and engineering best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, BPF files, manufacturer manuals, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently.


This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

This role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.

This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
