Overview

This position is responsible for component labeling, inventory management and order fulfillment in order to serve area hospitals. This position is considered "essential" during severe weather or emergency operation events.

Responsibilities
    Monitors incoming orders placed by hospitals using web-based inventory ordering software. Manages record review inside the BECS system to assure complete tractability and traceability of all products.
  • Interfaces with hospital personnel and provides customer service satisfaction 100% of the time. This position is the first line of customer interaction and may be called upon to investigate and respond to customer complaints.
  • Packs blood and blood components in accordance with procedural guidelines and complies with AABB, FDA and state and local regulations. This position consists of education on component products and suitable substitute products for orders. Performs blood and blood product return procedures to ensure accurate product disposition, storage and discard processes when applicable. Prepares products for irradiation and re-label once irradiation has been performed.
  • Assists in monitoring daily sales goals of blood components to hospital customers as well as selling packages of blood components to enterprise associates and outside customers. Performs importing of blood products and defining pricing plans.
  • Assists with inventory management by rotating blood and blood product inventory to assure optimum shelf life and usage. Manages short dated products to designated hospitals to minimize product outdating. Ensures expired products are removed from inventory and discarded with applicable process and final disposition code.
  • Final labeling of all blood products should be reviewed and performed in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Performs box shipping of recovered plasma that is sent to fractionator. Will complete associated paperwork and sending of records to the plasma fractionator as well as compliance with regulatory standards, the quality standards and the short supply agreement with the fractionator.
  • Completes tasks in Hospital Services that include but are not limited to attaching PED bags and accessioning in of all products collected along with the corresponding tubes and paperwork.
Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience with material handling in a shipping and receiving area or distribution center.
  • 1+ years of experience working within a healthcare or with a regulated environment.
  • 1+ years of experience interfacing with customers, packing and labeling products, and entering data into an inventory system.
