3RD SHIFT

Responsibilities:

Prepare and ensure that Single Facer and Double backer are in proper adjustment to run quality corrugated paperboard.

Make any adjustments needed to control warp, delamination, and fractured flute tips.

Place tape measure on rolls to ensure roll width matches roll tag and run sheet.

Place paper rolls on stands after inspecting for quality defects.

Communicate with dry end operators about board quality and proper grades and sizes of paper to be run.

Communicate with roll clamp driver for proper amount of lineal footage needed to run orders and to minimize butt roll dimensions to 30" minimum.

Report all maintenance defects to zone supervisor and input information into BPMS system.

Monitor all gauges to ensure proper steam pressure, air pressure and hydraulics.

Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.

Clean equipment and maintain good housekeeping.

Must vigorously promote teamwork (learning and contribution).

Must be willing to accept new challenges regarding learning, special projects, team building and reports.

Required cross training includes operating single facers and dry end.

Other job-related duties as assigned or delegated.

Basic Qualifications:

High School Graduate or GED

Be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment.

Able to pass pre-employment physical and drug test.

Must be able to sit, stoop, and bend.

Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a packaging or other manufacturing environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Working knowledge of hydraulics, steam and air pressure and the ability to monitor applicable gauges.

Ability to verbally communicate to co-workers and supervisors necessary to perform the essential functions of the above position or any other-directed tasks.

Ability to stand for standard 8-hour shift or longer.

Ability to lift or push 50 lbs. frequently.

Ability to bend and twist frequently.

Some skill at record keeping including paper records and computer data input.
