Job Summary (Primary function)

The Director, Regional Accounts, Payer Team is the primary point of accountability for select key regional accounts in the West Area. Major responsibilities of the incumbent include strategy development and execution for these complex customers. The RAD will deliver Incyte's products' access goals within agreed financial and operating limits. The Director manages strategy and communication in multiple books of business, various health plans, and downstream clients. The incumbent establishes and maintains high-level B2B customer relationships with this National customer, maintains awareness of organization structure - key decision makers within key accounts and identifies business drivers and partnership opportunities for Incyte.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)

* Responsible for education, communication and coordination with all segments of the business and operate as "single point of contact" for their respective Regional Sales Managers and Incyte Sales leadership.

* Accountable for the following: Assigned Account performance, pull through with Regional Health Plans, PBM's, Managed Medicaid, Part D and clinical pathway organizations.

* Address the needs of decision-makers within account; coordinate input from other Incyte teams (e.g., Medical Affairs, Marketing Teams, etc.), and work with team counterparts to ensure sales pull-through of access opportunities.

* Develop Business Plans to deliver on a coordinated Integrated Account Strategy and approach with the highest levels of Incyte leadership - in both Oncology and Dermatology.

* Interact with other personnel within the broader Market Access team and ultimately be responsible for the implementation of a strategical and tactical plan.

* Provide critical U.S. payer landscape field intelligence to the Senior Director, Payer/Patient Access.

* Provide updates, direction, and input to Incyte leadership team and assist in the development of the overall market access strategic plan for Incyte's products.

* Navigate organization to ensure that Incyte is building relationships with all key people, including creating opportunities for other Incyte Teams (e.g. Medical Affairs, HEOR, etc.) to engage with account partners.

* Optimize product access through account partnership, clinical presentations, contract negotiations, ensuring Incyte product formulary positioning and meeting market share objectives.

* Negotiate contracts to meet business objectives.

* Maintain awareness of current industry data sources.

* Understand prescription level data in order to review and present performance (sales, trends, comparison etc.)

* Drive account performance by understanding analytics and applying analytical insights.

* Develop and maintain relationships with internal cross-functional team; provide frequent business updates to the US Business Unit Leadership Team.

* Establish and maintain access for Incyte's product portfolio for pre-launch and currently marketed Incyte products.

* Lead internal stakeholders to consistently bring the best of Incyte into account conversations and facilitate senior level interactions.

* Identify, develop and execute business opportunities by focusing on appropriate positioning and messaging of Incyte products within targeted customer segments.

* Identify, resolve and communicate dispensing and/or product access issues or trends to the impacted region(s) and access team.

* Research and interpret Medicare Part D and commercial payer coverage policies for Incyte's portfolio of products.

* Proactively identify potential marketplace trends/barriers within respective geographies regarding injectable and specialty products. Reactively respond to any identified reimbursement, coverage issues and market access challenges.


Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

* Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry - Hematology/Oncology experience and Dermatology experience preferred.

* Direct Payer Experience with key plans ex. Regence, Blue Shield CA, SelectHealth, HMSA, etc

* Previous National Account Experience preferred.

* Minimum 5 years of experience in any of the Market Access segments of the business: reimbursement, health plans, pharmacy benefit managers, & distribution.

* Oncology Reimbursement experience strongly preferred - Buy and Bill and Oral Specialty.

* Detailed knowledge of payer/PBM economics and contracting: understanding key issues in the changing US healthcare landscape.

* In-depth pharmaceutical market knowledge: including prescribing trends, government regulations, supply chain, managed care, sales and legal considerations.

* Strategic thinking: understand account priorities and impact on individual decision-makers.

* Consultative partnerships: ability to identify emerging stakeholder needs and to problem-solve innovative ways (programs, contracts etc.) to help Incyte meet those needs.

* Ability to navigate a complex organization: ensure access and appropriate engagement with key individuals in National and Regional accounts.

* Previous team/sales leadership preferred.

* A thorough understanding of Regional Account Management.

* Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, Industry Reimbursement programs and patient support programs, Physician Network influences, emerging Clinical Pathways, IDNs and product distribution (Specialty Pharmacies).

* Demonstrated field pull-through experience

* Up to 50% domestic travel as dictated by business and customer meetings.
