About This Position

ChristianaCare is searching for a Research and Grants Associate to play a critical role in leading the ongoing transformation in research with critical coordination of ongoing research grants, supporting our organization's research initiatives, as well as very actively pursuing new sources of funding and grants. This position will also be responsible for actively participating and managing assigned research projects, preparing grant proposals, and fostering relationships with funding agencies, and partners.

This position will play a key role in the mentoring and guidance of research activities with our academic departments, including Academic Affairs and iLEAD and will also partner closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and the institutional IRB's as well as assist others in the pursuit of scholarly activities, as necessary.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

Oversee successful ongoing work to support and manage existing as well as new research grants brought into the department.

Collaborate with researchers and subject matter experts to successfully develop research proposals and funding opportunities.

Identify potential funding opportunities to stay informed about grant programs relevant to our organization's mission.

Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals tailored to the requirements of funding agencies.

Prioritize the writing of grants and obtaining extramural funding to support this position. Targets for extramural funding will be established in collaboration with leadership.

Develop budgets and budget justifications in coordination with finance and program staff.

Manage award grants throughout the grant lifecycle, including project planning, implementation, and reporting.

Monitor grant timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure that project goals are met.

Coordinate with project teams to track, expenditures, prepare financial reports, and maintain compliance with grant requirements.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field and a proven record in healthcare research, research administration, and grantsmanship is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' research experience to be focused on healthcare at an academic institution.
  • Progressive experience in healthcare, healthcare research, healthcare research administration, education, and grantsmanship is preferred.
