About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Sourcing Category Manager to join our Performance Solutions team. In this role, you will ensure cost effective components availability of our Connector and Machined Parts categories, while supporting multiple program teams and development activities.

This position will be located at our facility in Newark, Delaware with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop the category strategy and implementation plan aligned with company processes and objectives, in cooperation with key stakeholders
  • Gather and analyze relevant data on key market trends affecting category strategies while continually seeking to develop increased understanding of market dynamics. Monitor and anticipate key market developments, implementing go-to-market strategies that optimize supply base
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing activities, including but not limited to: spend analysis, benchmarking, supply market analysis, supplier analysis, RFI/RFP building, supplier contract negotiations, price analysis, should-cost modeling, make versus buy analysis & outsourcing product lifecycle management
  • Own and manage supplier relationships; develop and implement a structured process for establishing and reviewing supplier management goals, including supplier performance metrics, delivery on time, quality in support of unique business, technical and sustainability needs and objectives for continuous improvement
  • Drive supplier compliance with regulatory requirements and the development of new suppliers; identify high risk suppliers and develop risk mitigation plans
  • Build relationships with outside suppliers to leverage and expand access to new technologies not available internally to GORE
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships while ensuring business requirements are met
  • Drive cross-function efforts internally to improve cost effectiveness for key value we procure from external partner
  • Collaborate with the Procurement Operations team to transfer strategic requirements to ensure efficient core purchasing activities (examples: engagements with suppliers, driving cost-reduction projects and developing supply chain as required)
  • Recognize and protect Gore's intellectual property

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing/category management in complex manufacturing environment
  • Strategic mindset capable of embedding and aligning procurement process and goals with overall business objectives and anticipating future market trends and challenges
  • Capability to drive difficult negotiations to successful outcomes
  • Skilled leader of and participant in cross-functional projects
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork, collaboration, and ability to build relationships and affecting change in global teams
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement a sourcing strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable, both within teams and with suppliers
  • Ability to travel up to 25%; nationally and internationally

Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise in the assigned categories or similar complexity category
  • Expertise in Aerospace and Semiconductor & Microelectronics markets
  • SAP
