Overview

As a Level 3 Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced cyber security solutions to protect our organization's systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. You will play a critical role in the development, deployment, and administration of security technologies, as well as providing expert-level support for cyber security incidents and operations. This position requires strong technical expertise in network and system security, secure architecture design, security tool implementation, and incident response.

What you will be doing

Security Architecture Design:

    Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures, systems, and infrastructure to mitigate cyber security risks.
  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits of existing systems to identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
  • Strong focus on Security by Design and Privacy by Design principals and utilize these to partner with the business to solve complex technology challenges.

Security Tool Implementation:

  • Evaluate, deploy, and configure security technologies, including Intrusion Detection & Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), vulnerability management solutions, web filtering solutions, endpoint protection solutions, data loss prevention (DLP), Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Security Information and Event Management solutions (SIEM).
  • Develop and maintain security toolsets, scripts, and automation workflows to enhance security operations and incident response capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into existing systems and applications.

Incident Response and Forensics:

  • Provide expert-level support for investigation and response to cyber security incidents, including breaches, malware infections, and insider threats.
  • Conduct forensic analysis of security incidents to determine the root cause, scope, and impact of security breaches.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans and procedures to minimize the impact of security incidents and restore normal operations.

Threat Detection and Monitoring:

  • Implement and manage security monitoring tools and technologies for use by the Security Operations Center (SOC) and Enterprise Vulnerability Management (EVM) teams, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), threat intelligence platforms, vulnerability management platforms and log/analytic management systems.
  • Provides expert-level support to the SOC for analyzing network traffic, system logs, and security events for indicators of compromise (IOCs) and anomalous activities.
  • Provides expert-level support to the SOC for threat hunting activities to proactively identify and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Comply with all corporate and departmental privacy and data security policies and practices, including but not limited to, Hyland's Information Systems Security Policy
What will make you successful

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) preferred.

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security roles, with a strong focus on security engineering, security platform administration, and security architecture design.

* Deep understanding of network security principles, technologies, and best practices.

* Proficiency in security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, IAM, vulnerability management and endpoint protection solutions.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

* Strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of cyber security.

Based on individual states' employment laws, the following details are to comply with the relevant salary posting requirements: base salary range of $80,800-121,200 and eligible for bonus and benefits
