Masen, a Koch owned and operated environmental IoT services startup, is opening a Field Service Technician position. This role is open to candidates located near Hattiesburg, Mississippi and will require travel up to 50%+ to industrial sites across the U.S. in an exciting opportunity to join our growing team.

What You Will Do

  • Perform pre-assembly of hardware (e.g. mounting material, solar panels, batteries devices, etc.) and provide support of installation of environmental IoT equipment (automated data collection) according to project specifications and plans at manufacturing/industrial facilities
  • Organize, pack and plan delivery of equipment and tools needed for installation
  • Conduct troubleshooting and preventative maintenance of environmental IoT equipment as well as perform device calibrations
  • Identify alternative techniques and methods and recommend changes to equipment or procedures to improve the device maintenance process and system longevity
  • Use systems knowledge and experience to adapt equipment to specific site applications
  • Manage and work with various teams to develop and implement maintenance schedules to be time and cost efficient
  • Share technical information and maintenance documentation with other departments
  • Support technical issue diagnosis and device health monitoring
  • Support environmental IOT monitoring pilots

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience working in an industrial facility
  • Must be willing and able to travel (50%+) to industrial sites across the US. Is flexible and willing to travel on short notice
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical skills and ability to utilize power and hand tools to solve occasionally complex maintenance, installation and hardware mounting challenges
  • Electrical, instrumentation and mechanical experience
  • Physical requirements
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Prolonged periods of assembly equipment for installations
    • Must be able to lift 50lbs occasionally and 25lbs routinely
    • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of an industrial facility, including elevated workspaces
    • Able to hear distinct sounds
    • Able to visualize all colors of spectrum and visually see up close and at distance
    • Able and willing to work in an outdoor environment and long workdays on occasion

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Knowledge of communication protocols (modbus, 4-20mA, etc.) and rudimentary knowledge of electrical design and wiring
  • Recent experience working in industrial settings and environments
  • 2-year Technical Degree from an accredited college or trade school in a mechanically-based technical major
  • Experience with environmental data monitors and sensors
  • Experience with IOT devices/sensor in an industrial environment
  • Experience with computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Experience with maintenance planning
