Director of Quality Assurance:

Lennar is seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the quality assurance processes within the organization. This leadership role requires a strong background in quality management, a keen understanding of industry standards and regulations, and the ability to develop and implement effective quality assurance strategies. The Director of Quality Assurance will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products or services while maintaining compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The goal is an exceptional customer experience through a Zero Defect Home at New Home Celebration.



Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspection and Compliance:


Oversee the Quality Assurance Managers, who's primary responsibilities include:

  • Ensure resources are available to conduct thorough Quality Assurance inspections of every home, focusing on materials, and workmanship
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management to integrate quality principles into business processes and decision-making.
  • Ensure resources are available to complete Quality Assurance Acceptance as scheduled by Construction Management Team.
  • Conduct New Home Celebration and Acceptance as scheduled.
  • Use all available metrics to evaluate and drive high performance of their QA Manager direct reports.

1. Regulatory Compliance:
* Stay abreast of relevant industry regulations and standards; ensure the organization's compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Interact with regulatory bodies as necessary and participate in regulatory inspections or audits.

2. Process Improvement:
* Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of quality assurance processes.
* Work closely with process owners to identify and address root causes of quality issues.

3. Risk Management:
* Develop and implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate potential quality risks.
* Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management across the organization.

4. Training and Development:
* Provide leadership and guidance to the quality assurance team, including training and development programs.
* Foster a culture of quality and accountability throughout the organization.

5. Supplier Quality Management:

* Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to establish and maintain robust supplier quality management processes.
* Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards.

6. Metrics and Reporting:
* Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality assurance and regularly report on the performance of the quality management system.
* Analyze data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for preventive action.

7. Customer Focus:
* Champion a customer-centric approach to quality, ensuring products or services meet or exceed customer expectations.
* Address customer complaints and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.



Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:


* High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus).
* Relevant certification in construction codes is preferred as well as strong plan reading ability.
* Previous experience in construction quality inspection or a related role is advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and building codes.
* Attention to detail and excellent observational skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment.
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
* Physical fitness and willingness to work in outdoor and construction site environments.
* Familiarity with construction management software (BuildPro & Sales Force) is a plus.

Daily interaction with various division personnel, outside agencies, business partners, consultants, and vendors.

Physical Requirements
Requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of an office and/or the field environment. Also requires the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to see, speak and hear. Finger dexterity required to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, iPad and iPhone. Must be able to work in an outdoor construction environment under all weather conditions around hazardous chemicals, dust and dirt. Office work requires sitting at a computer monitor for extended periods of time, completing paperwork, and meeting with vendors and contractors and to receive/return phone messages. Standing is required for filing and copying. Limited travel may be required.
