Summary of Job Duties:Assist with the management and administration of an effective and efficient basketball program. The position reports to the Head Women's Basketball Coach.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Verifiable experience coaching basketball.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of all aspects of the game of basketball.
  • Familiarity with university policies regarding athletics, Division II basketball programs, MIAA rules, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Successful completion of the NCAA D2U modules.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects of practice and game preparation as directed by Head Coach, including but not limited to offensive and defensive drills, individual player improvement, game organization, and pre-season and post-season improvement programs example: weight room.
  • Assist in the recruitment of players by identifying and assessing talent, communicating with prospective recruits.
  • Responsible for academic supervision of players including, but not limited to classroom checks, arranging study halls and tutoring sessions, and communication with an academic advisor and Faculty Athletic Representative.
  • Responsible for building good relationships with players, faculty, staff, boosters, and the community, monitoring possible disciplinary situations, serving as a liaison between players and Head Coach.
  • Coordinating travel for the entire program including all logistics for any recruiting, team travel, and reconciling in Workday for all three facets for the program.
  • Game film coordinator. Breakdown and analysis of every game/practice for education sessions to head coach and to student-athletes.
  • Assist in scheduling practices coordination and coordinating with opposing teams for game-day oversight.
  • Responsible for student-athlete development projects. Ex: weekly meetings to invest in the holistic environment for setting student-athletes up for success and accountability. Providing resources outside of on the court coaching practice and game day teaching
  • Assist in academic accountability for student-athletes with measurable outcomes available.
  • One-on-one communication with student-athletes for academic success.
  • Oversee and create all social media content for all women's basketball social media platforms.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and to provide leadership for subordinates.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with players, staff, and basketball boosters.
  • Abide by university policies regarding athletics, Division II basketball programs, MIAA rules, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Working Relationships: Work in a dynamic team of diverse faculty, staff, and students in a fast paced, growth-oriented collegiate environment. Frequent contact required with basketball boosters, personnel from other agencies and institutions and the general public.

Special Job Dimensions:
Work performed primarily in an indoor setting. Frequent travel and extended hours required. Valid driver's licenserequired.


Salary Information:

$35,568 annual salary
