Position Description:
Ryerson has an opportunity for a Regional Controller. As a Regional Controller you are responsible for overseeing and assisting our acquisitions with GAAP compliance along with accounting systems and controls, identifying gaps in processes and recommendation and implementation of improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

*Oversee the accounting close of West Region Family of Companies (currently 5 separate businesses and ERPs). Work with the accounting personnel at each company to ensure accounting results are submitted on time and are done in accordance with GAAP
*Review monthly financial results of each acquisition to ensure results are complete and accurate
*Responsible for various journal entries for each acquisition, including overtime revenue recognition calculations, as well as collaborating with Corporate Accounting department on accounting for certain centralized accounts, such as leases, fixed assets, and taxes
*Assists select new acquisitions in converting to SAP GL within 6-12 months of acquisition date. Work with AP to integrate Next Process, work with Operations to integrate Ariba, work with AP to integrate Concur, work with HR to integrate payroll/benefits (if appropriate)
*Assess accounting systems and controls at each West Region Family of Companies, identify gaps in processes and develop and implement process improvements.
*Provide insights and analysis to help the businesses improve margins, expense leverage, and grow customer accounts
*Participate in the accounting diligence calls for select new acquisitions for the West region (if applicable) and assist in the integration activities at the acquisition to ensure the accounting is done in accordance with GAAP. Assist the Corporate Financial Reporting team in purchase accounting and requests and communication with the acquisition

Position Requirements:
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting and CPA required; Master's degree is strongly preferred.
*Minimum of 8-10 years of accounting close experience
*Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel experience required.
*Proficiency in Alteryx or similar automation technologies
*Quick learner and high proficiency to learn multiple ERP systems
*Excellent professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required.
*Strong organization and project management skills
*Ability to motivate team to produce required documentation within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
*Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.
