Job Description

Koch Industries is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst - SALT to join our dynamic team. The tax team at Koch Industries takes greater ownership in their roles through an enhanced knowledge that comes from in-depth interaction with the businesses they support. Here, you can participate in tax reporting, tax position management, planning and business consulting for domestic operations. By working directly with business leaders to understand the purpose and intricacies of company transactions and procedures, each team member is better equipped to apply the appropriate standards in the most efficient way possible, demonstrate your ability to be inquisitive and explore data to improve processes and pursue career advancement across a wide range of opportunities.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the overall state apportionment process including data gathering, cleansing and analysis.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvements and share ideas for transformation that could drive value within the tax organization.
  • Partner with our transformation team to drive and implement process improvements across all aspects of state income tax reporting, position management, audit, and controversy.
  • Build and develop relationships across the tax organization and other Koch companies to understand and optimize the various state processes and business tax positions.
  • Use technology to help other capabilities maximize the use of their data.
  • Participate in the overall state tax reporting process, including amended returns, RARs, estimated/extension payments, income/franchise tax workpapers and return review, etc.


Basic Qualifications

  • Progressive career experience in tax technology, corporate or international income taxation, tax accounting, financial reporting, or related roles.
  • Experience managing large volumes of data from multiple systems and using advanced tools to perform analysis and develop a point of view.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • Experience presenting financial concepts to various audiences to effectively engage stakeholders and partnering with others to bridge gaps and solve problems.
  • Experience with both corporate and partnership state income tax.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, PowerBI, or other data automation platforms.
