Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) 3 MONTH TEMP TO HIRE $70 per hour - Nights and Evening Shift, Weekend Requirement

This is full-time opportunity working 12-hour shifts from 7pm - 7:30am to include every other weekend.

Rockford Center is a 138-bed mental health facility located in Newark, DE, providing easy access to a full complement of inpatient and partial behavioral health programs for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults. Rockford is the only child inpatient behavioral health facility in DE, offers an experienced and tenured senior management team, and serves New Castle County and northern Maryland.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Complies with Rockford Center patient care policies/procedures
  • Complies with time and attendance polices of Rockford Center.
  • Conducts ongoing and individualized nursing care duties as assigned and as dictated by the patient's condition in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols.
  • When administering PRN medications, assess for confirmed med for PRN, documents need (rationale) and its effectiveness in the medical record.
  • Reports change in patient physical, mental status or episodes of seclusion or restraint to nurse manager or supervisor during each shift. Ensures family and physician notification is completed and documented if a patient is transported to Emergency Room, Injured, Falls or is Placed in Seclusion or Restraints.
  • Collaborates with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an individualized plan of care.
  • Performs treatments and therapies as ordered by physician in an appropriate and timely fashion.
  • Documents patient care, findings, and psychosocial responses to nursing interventions.
  • Documents PRN medications given, reason and effect
  • Initiates emergency measures according to age appropriate CPR and client resuscitation protocols.
  • Participates in emergency crisis interventions according to age appropriate techniques.
  • Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

  • Attendance of accredited vocational school for RNs and a current State of Delaware RN License.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an RN in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
