The Opportunity

We are seeking a Managing Law Clerk Specialist, mid-level, to join our Firm. This position will be based in our Wilmington office (hybrid). The Managing Law Clerk Specialist will assist to maintain the Firm's litigation calendar using market based calendar software. The Specialist will have a working knowledge of how to process conventional and electronic filings in various state and federal courts, and will assist with various administrative projects and tasks.

  • Docket and enter litigation related deadlines in the Firm's calendar software.
  • Retrieve documents and docket sheets from various state and federal court jurisdictions.
  • Have working knowledge of how to process conventional and electronic filings in various state and federal courts.
  • Assist with monitoring for distributing new complaints for potential new business.
  • Ability to communicate with various courts and vendors.
  • Obtain decisions issued by various courts and agencies throughout the country.
  • Collaborate with Filing Specialist(s) and Managing Clerk to ensure comprehensive up-to-date content is placed in the Managing Law Clerks Database.
  • Support the Legal Assistant Specialist in the Corporate Restructuring Department as needed.
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to requests into the department to ensure high-quality work product that aligns with Firm values.
  • Stay current on understanding Firm policies, industry trends, and professional development opportunities.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to facilitate effective work relationships with others.
  • Manages Firm resources responsibly.
  • Complies with and understands Firm operation, policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Federal and State Judicial rules
  • Knowledge of calendar software
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills to facilitate high-quality work product
  • Manage Firm resources responsibly
  • Attention to detail is essential - especially when calculating jurisdictional deadlines
  • Ability to manage cases through vendor PacerPro, Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), File&ServeXpress and various calendar software the department utilizes
  • Capable of managing multiple projects, tasks and remain organized while prioritizing work
  • Capable of working independently on projects and tasks if necessary as well as effectively within a team
  • Capacity to handle sensitive material and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to deal courteously/effectively with others
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and proofread work for errors
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to adjust hours and work the hours necessary to meet operating and business needs
  • Flexibility and willingness to perform a wide range of tasks

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of five years related experience
