Your Job

Koch Methanol, LLC. is now hiring for a Process Engineer at our state-of-the-art methanol production facility in St. James, LA. This opportunity is perfect for early career professionals to build a career with Koch while broadening your engineering skillset through experience-based learning. The role will help to guide automation & process optimization to ensure the facility is best-in-class in plant technology & operation. The individual will evaluate, design, and implement process changes to increase plant efficiency, reliability & rate. This includes involvement in front-end engineering studies, detailed engineering reviews & oversight during start-up. This role will also provide priority support to the Operations Team by monitoring, troubleshooting, and developing solutions to keep the plant at peak performance.

What You Will Do

  • Provide engineering support for the Operations Team by:
-Monitoring process and equipment performance
-Identifying and resolving performance constraints
-Troubleshooting and developing solutions for operational issues

  • Support the daily operation of site water treatment and utilities systems by providing oversight, troubleshooting, and guidance.
  • Generate & review process engineering scopes of work to meet the current and future strategic production goals
  • Provide subject matter expert (SME) oversight to changes proposed to the production process
  • Work with the cross-functional site teams to execute ideas & site improvements
  • Support plant operations team in troubleshooting to help resolve issues
  • Contribute to the site's learning culture where ideas are welcomed, challenged & executed to drive continuous improvement
  • Support the process controls team by bringing experience & creative solutions to plant troubleshooting
  • Support project execution teams in developing scopes of work that create value for the site
  • Review technical data & trends to provide expertise in solving daily issues
  • Demonstrate & promote a commitment to safety & operational excellence


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • 3+ years in the chemical manufacturing industry providing technical input to production processes
