The Molded Fiber Application Engineer serves as a product specialist providing technical support to our commercial sales team located in North America. Supports geographic growth initiatives by partnering with sales team in order to identify and facilitate progression of new business opportunities. Supports technical solution development for new applications, product selection, and optimal trial design strategy. Communicates with commercial team representatives and customers to better understand each customer-specific process, any ongoing problems, and potential chemical solutions.

Responsible for maintaining existing business by ensuring that all Solenis' applications are meeting performance expectations and abiding by best practice recommendations. Troubleshoots existing and competitive program upsets via data analysis, detailed site surveys, critical problem-solving skills and analytical thinking. Develops and maintain internal training materials and technical literature while also conducting one on one training and organized technical training of the commercial sales team.

  • Field support of customer applications by troubleshooting and best practice management/standardization.
  • Partner with sales team in pursuit of new business opportunities via onsite audit support of competitive applications, product selection, and application recommendations.
  • Conduct group and individual training of commercial sales team as well as support the development/maintenance of internal training materials and technical literature.
  • Actively engage in personal training opportunities with mentors and internal and external training materials to better develop knowledge base and skill set.
  • Trial reporting, administration, and associated communications
  • Participate in idea generation with R&D for new product development and commercialization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree Science and/or Engineering; or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated wide ranging experience with converting molded fiber specific to foodservice and food packaging market. Ideal candidate would have experience across geographies and production systems. Experience with coating 3D molded fiber parts would be a definite bonus.
  • Wide ranging experience in trial preparation and execution.
  • Project Management and Data management experience with high demonstrated proficiency in relevant software
  • High degree of interpersonal skills with demonstrated effectiveness at communication to a variety of audiences both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical thinking, problem solving, strong attention to detail, and quick understanding of technical concepts.
  • Substantial experience in corresponding SBU e. new application start-up/installation, existing application management with multiple products in product line, participation in training, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions, balancing customer's needs and company objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, presentation capability, and ability to influence others through direct and indirect methods.
  • Industry and customer literate, or ability to pick up industry and Solenis technologies quickly.
  • Leadership ability.
  • Drive for results; proactively addresses complex issues.
  • Strong Problem solving and Communication skills.
  • Ability to establish relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Majority of travel will be to various customer industrial sites both indoors and outdoors. Employee could be faced with working in temperature extremes. Employee should be comfortable standing for extended periods of time and ability to climb up and down multiple levels of stairs. Manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude helpful. Use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots, gloves, and H2S Monitor as required or needed.

60% travel is required for this role both domestic and internationally. Proximity to national airport is required. Time not spent traveling will be remote from home office.

The expected compensation range for this position is between $128,200 and $172,935, plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.

Pay Range:$115,400.00-156,135.00
