Job Description

Logistic Specialist II

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.

Manage logistical operations for laboratories, overseeing supply receipt, distribution, and stock level determination. Employ FIFO method for issuing supplies, maintain warehouse inventory, and ensure organized storage. Handle light housekeeping duties, including box and package upkeep. Conduct quality control and environmental monitoring for storage locations, biohazardous waste removal, and chemical supplies. Assist in Biomedical Maintenance, plan maintenance schedules, and coordinate vendor access. Possess expertise in logistical life cycle management, supply chain, and compliance with federal and state regulations for hazardous materials transportation.

Logistic Specialist II Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee the receipt, distribution, and stock level determination of supplies for laboratories.
  • Implement the FIFO method for issuing supplies and ensure the organized maintenance of the warehouse inventory.
  • Handle upkeep of boxes and packages, ensuring a tidy and organized storage environment.
  • Conduct quality control measures and environmental monitoring for storage locations, including refrigerators, freezers, and other laboratory equipment.
  • Manage the removal of biohazardous waste and chemical supplies/waste in compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of biomedical equipment and facilities. Plan maintenance schedules and coordinate vendor access to laboratories.
  • Apply expertise in logistical life cycle management, including property book/hand-receipt responsibilities, arranging transportation and storage of materials, and transportation management.
  • Work with various supplies and equipment related to general, medical, and research needs.
  • Possess knowledge and experience with federal and state regulations governing the transportation of dangerous/non-dangerous chemicals and hazardous materials.
  • Operate pallet jacks for efficient movement and storage of materials.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Logistic Specialist II Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in logistics and supply chain management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain management, including procurement, distribution, and inventory management.
  • Proven experience in overseeing logistical operations, including supply receipt, distribution, and stock level determination.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement inventory management techniques, such as the FIFO method, to ensure efficient supply issuance.
  • Experience in maintaining warehouse inventory and ensuring organized storage, including handling light housekeeping duties.
  • Background in conducting quality control measures and environmental monitoring for storage locations.
  • Familiarity with the management and removal of biohazardous waste and chemical supplies/waste.
  • Previous involvement in assisting with Biomedical Maintenance, planning maintenance schedules, and coordinating vendor access.
  • Expertise in logistical life cycle management, property book/hand-receipt responsibilities, transportation management, and material storage.
  • Knowledge and experience with federal and state regulations governing transportation, hazardous materials, and waste management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with vendors, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot logistical challenges and find effective solutions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant logistics software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
