Job Description

The SVP, Credit Head - Personal Installment Loans is a senior management-level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team to lead Citi's growth in unsecured loans (PIL) and to monitor portfolio risk in partnership with the broader risk management group. The team is looking for a high-energy individual who is looking to make a contributions at-scale.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of risk analysts and manage complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas
  • Own and develop quantitative risk framework and associated risk analytics to optimize targeting and underwriting strategies
  • Develop risk framework and design credit policy for new, innovative lending features and products
  • Collaborate with Marketing, product, Finance, and Legal to drive new projects including new product launch, enhanced tech capabilities, improving business profitability to mention a few
  • Develop and test experimental designs, sampling techniques, and analytical methods to identify underserved segments within risk appetite boundaries and prepare the test data for processing by organizing information, checking for any inaccuracies, and adjusting / weighting the raw test results to design credit policies while balancing risk and return
  • Analyze portfolio performance at a granular segment level on an ongoing basis
  • Communicate policy changes and test recommendations, program approvals, performance trends with business partners, senior management and external regulators
  • Lead multiple cross-functional projects simultaneously through effective project management. Create, update, and track project plans for multiple deliverables
  • Communicate clearly and effectively to technical and non-technical audience
  • Innovate and build insightful reports for Approve/decline and line/loan assignment decisions
  • Leverage probabilities, distributions and decision trees to perform risk, financial and data analyses including profiling, performance, forecasting and new program due diligence
  • Establish and leverage cross-functional partnerships and network with key internal partners (Product, Marketing, Governance, Execution and Decision Management)
  • Drive agenda through influence by preparing risk management presentations for senior management that include analytics on expected portfolio performance and areas of potential risk and/or opportunity
  • Break down abstract problems into actionable analysis and comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast paced environment
  • Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in credit risk management or equivalent training
  • Experience in the financial services industry
  • Familiarity with unsecured loans or credit cards
  • Experience with analytical or data management tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, Tableau, COGNOS)
  • Demonstrated accountability for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses/geographic regions
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven negotiation skills often used at a senior level
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize, prioritize and drive results with urgency
  • Ability to obtain support and buy-in across a wide range of internal and external audience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
