Job Description

Position Summary

The individual will work in the Risk Governance & Operations team for North America Branded Cards (24+ million card members with $70+ billion in receivables). The individual in this role is responsible for a broad range of policy coding and analytics implementation activities which are vital, and lead as required, a variety of resources in the implementation of a broad range of strategy and policy initiatives for various Cards Credit platforms. The position requires working with and managing resources across multiple groups in a geographically dispersed environment.

The person must be able to:

  • Think strategically and analytically
  • Navigate complex and variable issues
  • Leverage on coding languages/platforms include FICO Blaze Advisor, JAVA, JCL, and COBOL
  • Leverage on analytical tools include SAS, SQL
  • Execute and manage the life cycle for the implantation, validation and on-going maintenance of Risk credit policy in Blaze Advisor
  • Manage timelines and multiple work streams and resources

A critical success factor for the individual in this role will be their ability to sustain various credit systems by applying data analyses on policy changes to track and validate expected and consistent decisioning results.

Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of risk management and business strategies /actions and risk policies.
  • Proficient in SQL, SAS, in a UNIX and mainframe environment.
  • Experience with credit policy implementation and management in a Blaze Advisor environment.
  • Validate credit policy concepts and understand through data analysis downstream impacts (legal, financial, customer) for development, validation and review of business requirements.
  • Ability to develop and perform analysis that addresses concerns and issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to manage effectively in a high pressure organization with multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent ability to develop partnerships across multiple business and functional areas.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to present credibly to both large and small groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence across teams.
  • Displays flexibility to work well with varying personal styles.
  • Develops strong working relationships that foster cooperation and respect.
  • Manage, monitor, and ensure successful completion of all phases of multiple projects, through effective challenge, expedient problem resolution, and controlled change management

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS and 7+ years of work experience in financial services or Management consulting with in depth data analysis on consumer credit policies management. Master's degree in an analytical field is a plus

Domain and Process Expertise

  • Strong understanding of risk management and credit strategies
  • Project/testing/experience in a Main Frame and Client Server environment
  • Experience in policy Agile project life cycle for implementing changes
  • Certification in PMP and/or Scrum a plus

Technical

  • FICO Blaze Advisor, JAVA, COBOL
  • SAS Base, Stats, SQL
  • IBM Mainframe, JCL and Unix experience is a plus
  • MS Office Suite (including Access and PowerPoint)

Management/Communication/Analytic

  • Ability to manage effectively in a high pressure organization with multiple deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Data oriented with ability to quickly understand complex strategies and concepts and drive them into actionable recommendations
