Position Description:
Southern Tool Steel, a subsidiary of Joseph T. Ryerson & Son Inc., is currently seeking a Saw Operator to join our team in. Under the direction of the warehouse manager and assistant manager, successful candidate will be responsible for:

* Saw, cut, package, and mark material according to customer specifications including holding requested cutting tolerances.
* Complete verified cutting dimensions on production work orders and complete applicable worksheets work safely.
* Select material from specific heats or for physical condition in accordance with instructions on orders
* Unload and receive material, weighs, counts, check sizes. Identify by color and heat or test numbers. Place into stock racks or designated areas.
* Record necessary information on receiving tickets or other documents.
* Maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards of each job assignment.
* Keep areas clean and organized.
* Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
* HS diploma or GED
* Less than a year of metals warehouse experience with knowledge of structural steel preferred
* Forklift/side-loader experience
* Prior saw experience, along with the ability to learn and operate all saws in bays
* Must be able to safely operate cranes with minimal supervision
* Good computer skills are a plus.
* SAP experience preferred but not necessary
* Must be able to accurately use standard measuring tools (tape measure, micrometer, and caliper) as well as pneumatic hand tools.
* Must be willing to work overtime when needed
* Must be a team player.
