We are currently seeking a Production Planner to join our team in Chicago, IL. Reporting to the Operations Administration Manager, this position will be responsible for planning and executing an efficient and effective schedule for our operations that will minimize resources used and maximize productivity. The schedule must meet the demand of the customer to hit on-time delivery and achieve customer satisfaction.

Roles and Responsibilities
* Identify and schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal inventory of goods and pre-staging of orders of operations:
- Feed stock for orders to be pre-pulled
- Packaging Materials

* Managing equipment capacity
- Close working relationship with operations to identify warehouse man-power needs and available work hours
- Communication of order demand
- Adjustments to schedule based on customer need, equipment downtime, etc

* Scheduling of shop orders to equipment to create maximum utilization of equipment and materials
- Including minimum change-over and set-up times
- Managing material pull-time times and secondary processing times to meet promise dates
- Creation of forward looking schedule to estimate future resource demand
- Prioritizing schedule to meet truck loading times to ensure on-time delivery to the customer

* Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory
- Monitor material shortages and work with procurement to keep late orders to a minimum

* Manage and report out backlog to commercial team
* Other tasks as assigned

Position Requirements:
* GED or High School diploma
* Minimum of 2 years of experience operations or supply chain
* Problem solving skills
* Computer skills required (Use of Excel required which can be trained)
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks
* Track record of self-motivated, results-orientated team player
