Position Description:
What would you do with the opportunity to take a leading metals processing and service center to even greater heights? Texas Steel Processing, a Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc. company, a leading metals distributor in the US, is seeking a solutions oriented Operations Supervisor to lead our 2nd Shift Team.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading others to operational excellence while focusing on team safety, delivering a quality product, eliminating waste, developing effective and skilled teams, and meeting budgeted production and operational metrics. In addition to overseeing daily operations, there is significant value placed on strategic long-term vision to ensure continued success of the facility.

Responsibilities:
* Direct the efficient function of plant operations
* Understand production goals and implement actions necessary to meet objectives
* Backup to production scheduling
* Provides leadership to direct reports; coaches and counsels employees
* Facilitates problem solving team building activities
* Carries out and supports company policy, goals and objectives
* Understands quality goals and implement actions necessary to meet goals
* Ensure training is effectively carried out and oversee completion of training checklist
* Communicate with other departments within facility as well as other Ryerson businesses
* Understand customer requirements, participate and advise on decisions regarding suitability of material and processing capabilities
* Provide direction and coaching in safe work practices: support safety goals
* Review unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are carried out to eliminate workplace hazards
* Facilitate and direct OEM and AMSE code welding operations to include: MIG, FLUX, and SAW processes; and production output
* Coordinate supply chain scheduling of internally produced and vendor supplied parts for the welding process
* Other duties as assigned by management

Position Requirements:
* High School Diploma/GED is required; Associate's or Technical Degree is preferred
* 3-5 years supervisory experience in a welding warehouse shop setting
* Knowledge of various employment laws (i.e, OHSA) and government regulations (i.e., DOT)
* Knowledge of all warehouse machine and equipment operations; experience working with CNC plasma burning, plate rolling, vessel and structural steel welding
* Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal skills
* Understands how to drive change within a dynamic environment
* Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
* Experience working in a team-focused environment
* Action oriented
