Position Description:

We are currently seeking Transportation Load Planners to join our team in Portage, IN. This position will be responsible for analyzing transportation data to provide lean, cost effective solutions to ensure on-time delivery to our customers at minimal expense. The successful candidate will analyze shipments to create a work plan to meet customer expectation while minimizing asset use mileage while maximizing route stops and load weight.

Roles & Responsibilities
* Responsible for producing day-to-day transportation plans to meet delivery dates utilizing a routing software (OTM and SAP).
* Identify shipping opportunities for improved performance such as: truckload multi-stops, consolidated shipments, etc
* Perform methodical data analysis of plan to maximize asset use and service requirements and reduce cost.
* Respond to changing needs of customers by immediate response and changes to transportation plan
* Communicate results professionally to appropriate personnel including sales and operations
* Create/maintain reporting on transportation goals
* Identify and resolve carrier performance issues such as: missed loads, stops pick ups, etc
* Carrier/driver review for performance and cost savings
* Track and trace of shipments as necessary
* Lead the continuous process improvement efforts by identifying high impact areas and executing projects for improvement
* Other tasks as assigned

Position Requirements:
* GED or High School diploma
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in a transportation role
* Problem solving skills
* Computer skills required (OTM/SAP experience a plus)
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks
* Track record of self-motivated, results-orientated team player
* Professional communication skills to internal and external customers
