Position Purpose | The director of communications for the Faculty of Arts & Sciences creates, delivers, and leads its communications strategy, working closely with partners across Dartmouth to support and promote the work of Arts & Sciences divisions, departments, and programs through a variety of communications channels and services. The director is a staff member in the Office of Communications and reports to the vice president for communications. |

This position offers a hybrid opportunity to work both remotely and onsite and therefore requires that the incumbent reside within a commutable distance to Hanover, NH. |
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp | Bachelors plus 6 or more years' experience or combination of education and experience |
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities | * At least 6 years or more of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing * A passion for higher education and working with students and faculty * Excellent writing and editing skills, with a gift for storytelling and pitch-perfect tone * Outstanding judgement and political acumen * Experience working with media and media relations professionals * Strong interpersonal skills, with a talent for collaboration and cooperation; ability to build consensus among diverse groups of people * Demonstrated ability to develop and execute communication strategies for a complex organization * Crisis management experience * Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects from inception to completion, adhering to deadlines, within budget, and with high quality * Ability to multitask, prioritize, and sustain project momentum over periods of time |
