Teacher for Multi Disciplinary Team NEW HIGHER PAY RATE **$3k Sign-On Bonus**

*$3,000 Sign-On Bonus payable in two equal installments of $1,500 within 30 days of completing 30th and 180th day of employment.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Team members of the Multi-Disciplinary Evaluation/Individual Education Plan (MDE/IEP) program are responsible for conducting MDE and writing an Evaluation Report (ER) for each child that is assessed. The teacher on the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) is responsible for assessing and documenting the child's developmental strengths and weaknesses in the ER, and along with the other members of the MDT, the teacher determines whether or not the child meets preschool special education service eligibility requirements based on the state's criteria. In addition to administering standardized assessments, the teacher will observe the child and interview parents and other professionals working with the child. Once a child has been determined to be eligible for preschool special education services, the teacher is responsible for developing strategies and goals that can be shared and discussed when participating in that child's IEP meeting.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors in Early Childhood/Special Education required
  • Pennsylvania Early Child Education (ECE) certification required; Special Education certification preferred
  • IEP experience, including demonstrated experience in planning, writing and implementation of IEP's, progress monitoring, positive behavior supports preferred
  • Experience communicating with families, formally and informally, including engaging families in their child's educational program preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to internal and external staff, parents and guardians
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge and application of Chapter 14 regulations and requirements preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts MDE's collaboratively with other MDT members
  • Works collaboratively with MDT members when writing and editing the ER
  • Develops child's developmentally-appropriate IEP
  • Consults and collaborates with parents, team members, school faculty, and other school/funding agencies
  • Participates in regular staff meetings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
