Research Lab Assistant Dermatology P/T
Apply Keck School of Medicine Los Angeles, CaliforniaThe Department of Dermatology is seeking a part-time Clinical Lab Assistant to support technical laboratory personnel in day-to-day operations of the wet lab research in the Department of Dermatology.
The incumbent will:
- Prepare simple and complex reagents or media under direct supervision.
- Clear understanding of the standards required to work in a research laboratory under university and Keck School of Medicine guidelines
- Monitor incoming phone inquiries and requests.
- Establish and maintain courteous, cooperative relations with Principal Investigator and other personnel
- Identify and separate specimens to be referred to outside laboratories or analyzed by other USC laboratories.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols.
- Maintain and organizes laboratory supplies. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Under direct supervision of Principal Investigator and research team, order laboratory consumables and track billing and reconciliations of supplies of the laboratory.
- Must be highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Possesses effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with typical software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
The hourly range for this position is $19.00- $25.02.
