The Legal Specialist performs a variety of legal services and project management services on procurement and sourcing contracts and matters that are handled by the Legal Department in support of the Strategic Global Sourcing business unit. The Legal Specialist must have sufficient experience and ability to function as an independent professional.
In the Procurement contracting area, the duties and responsibilities of the Legal Specialist I may include, without limitation, the following:
Collaborate with numerous internal departments, including Global Indirect Strategic Sourcing, customer experience, business development, finance, credit, and risk management.
Generating initial contracts from Legal Department forms for business clients and communications with the business clients about the same
Providing project management assistance in connection with commercial contracting process
Preparing standard contract revisions
Maintaining correspondence and documentation related to contracts
Troubleshooting contract-related issues
Requires good research experience, writing, communication and computer skills; normally requires a minimum of three (3) or more years of progressively responsible and directly related experience. Experience in a large law firm or the legal department or contract administration group of a public company is desirable.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and legal procedures
Ability to work independently and solutions-oriented thinker

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong judgment and ability to resolve issues effectively
Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
