Position Description:
Texas Steel Processing, a Joseph T. Ryerson & Son, Inc. company, is currently seeking a Plasma Operator to join our facility in Houston, TX. This position will be report to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
* Pulling and staging material for production orders
* CNC Machine set-up, change consumables, and tooling set-up
* Daily machine operation for part processing
* Mechanical troubleshooting of machines
* Read and interpret blueprints and plans
* Part inspection to ensure quality specifications
* Use measuring equipment such as calipers and tape measures for inspection of products
* Proactively recognize defective material
* Packaging of material to customer requirements
* Scrap management of remnants and efficient scrap utilization
* Accurate work order confirmation on paper and computer
* Stage material for shipping
* Operating an overhead crane to move material as needed
* Operating a forklift to move material as needed
* Carrying/moving supplies as needed
* Maximum productivity for finished goods creation
* Other miscellaneous duties as directed by supervision

* High school diploma or equivalent or accredited certification in a specialty area
* "Can do" and winning attitude
* Mid-level machining experience with CNC drilling and milling machines
* Strong understanding of steel manufacturing and fabrication
* Candidates will be asked to complete the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment ("Assessment"). To qualify for this position, the cumulative raw score of the four categories in the Assessment must be a minimum of 37, with a minimum raw score in each of the four categories of: Reading = 10, Arithmetic = 9, Inspection & Measurement = 6, and Process Monitoring & Problem Solving = 7.
* Advanced computer skills and/or comfort using a computer
* Ability to successfully pass physical requirements exam for vision and hearing
* Ability to successfully pass physical requirements for mobility and lifting requirements
* 1-3 years of experience as a skilled machine operator
