The Office of Information Technology (OIT) offers a challenging internship opportunity during the summer of 2021 for students enrolled in a Human Resources graduate program at the University of Minnesota. As our Human Resources Intern, your primary focus will involve continuous improvement efforts in the area of talent management/acquisition. Additionally, you will contribute to the improvement of employee development and best practices around diversity, equity, and inclusion within the selection process. Assignments will be developed around actual needs within our organization so that your developed solutions will be implemented. This internship will last approximately 12-14 weeks at 75-100% time (30-40 hours per week). Responsibilities: Analyze the current state of talent management, including hiring and selection process, hiring manager satisfaction, and the use of Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Research talent management best practices and summarize findings. Identify and explore the area of needs; design and implement appropriate solutions. Present findings and proposed strategy to OIT leadership regarding a future approach to talent management. Translate strategy into actionable steps which drive an impactful and sustainable implementation. Evaluate and utilize innovative strategies for employee development, experience and mapping.Requirements: Currently enrolled graduate student in a Human Resources program at the University of Minnesota. Ability to draw insight from data, metrics, research, and trends and translate it into an actionable strategy. Ability to be self-directed and exercise independent judgment.
