The Department of Policy and Procedures is a part of the Policy, Ethics and Records Unit in the Law Department. Reporting to the Executive Director of Policy and Procedures, the Policy and Procedures intern will support members of the Policy and Procedures Team in carrying out its mission to facilitate the strategic adoption, implementation and uniform compliance of all Board policies and procedures to ensure equity, fair standards and academic success for all students. The Policy and Procedures Intern will be held accountable for the following responsibilities: Typical Duties/Responsibilities: * Completing assigned research tasks, such as conducting literature and legislation reviews and background research on various education policy topics * Finding, organizing, and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data * Preparing memos, briefs, reports, and presentations * Assisting policy owners with policy stakeholder engagement efforts * Drafting policy summaries and reviews * Communicating Board policies and procedures to parents and students * Other duties as assigned In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Policy and Procedures Intern must possess the following qualifications: Type of Education Required: * Bachelor's Degree * Law school or graduate school student (Preferred) Type of Experience Required: * Experience analyzing and summarizing policy research Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Strong communication skills (speaking - including presentations - listening, and writing) * Strong project management and organizational skills * Effective strategic planning capabilities, including the ability to establish long-term vision and goals, and align/manage activities toward goal fulfillment * Ability to build collaborative relationships with a variety of constituent groups, including external partners, to ensure the entire system operates in the most effective manner possible to support schools and principals * Ability to define problems, analyze data, and outline valid conclusions and action steps '270425
