Contract Coordinator

Overview of Position

Change Healthcare is seeking a Contract Coordinator to join our Financial Risk Management Team. The ideal candidate for this job will be energetic, an effective communicator, and ambitious to drive meaningful change. Prior working knowledge of facility contracts and a passion to "analyze" is a required skillset to successful in this role. The Contract Coordinator will work in a collaboration with an array of Change Healthcare members and external customers. The Contract Coordinator will be comfortable seeking counsel and taking prompt action, which will allow for overall tracking of contracts for Change Healthcare clients, facilities, and vendors.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Responsible for preparation and verification of contracts and associated tasks to maintain internal/external compliance.

  • Maintains, reviews, retrieves contract documents as needed.

  • Checks submitted documents for completeness and compliance with federal or state regulations and company policy.

  • Maintains knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to the contract process.

  • Maintains general understanding and ability to provide detailed information regarding the Payer Provider agreements with respective payment of claims i.e. percentage of charge, base rates, stop loss amounts, transfers, DRG rates, readmissions, or other payment terms which impact claim payment.

  • Supports and coordinates all aspects of the provider contract inclusive of internal/external inquiries, maintenance of provisional terms, and required amendments.

  • Routinely interacts with clients and internal departments to ensure timely execution of contracts and processes notifications regarding reimbursement terms or other relevant provisions.

  • Such work will require extensive follow up, research, analysis, and organizational skills.


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with Health Plan or related environment with a focus on provider relations, contracting, and respective payment methodologies.

  • Considerable knowledge of managed care terms including principles and practices of health care service delivery including HMO, ACO, Medicare, & capitation versus fee for service

  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Strong proficiency in Excel, and other MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Access, Teams)

  • Possess the ability to be creative in critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to independently plan and organize own activities

How much should I expect to travel?

  • 0-10%
