About the Opportunity The Mechanical Engineering Intern, under direction of the engineering staff, supports mechanical engineering in a prototype-manufacturing environment. Primary responsibilities include both engineering lab and production hands-on assembly and test support as well as mechanical design. Responsibilities
Meet deadlines in a prototype-manufacturing environment working independently
Under direction of engineering staff: Develops and tests machinery and equipment, applying knowledge of mechanical technology
Under direction of engineering staff: Using CAD, designs, fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, and fixtures for manufacturing, testing, & prototyping.
Reviews project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0

Preferred Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science: Mechanical Engineering course of study at an accredited university or college
Attention to detail, disciplined work ethic, and strong organizational skills are a must
Hands-on mechanical aptitude: familiar with hand tools such as wrenches, cutters, crimpers, multimeters, etc.
CAD, 2D and 3D parts and assembly preferably Creo experience
Proficiency creating and reviewing detail drawings with GD&T
Design for Manufacture and Assembly proficiency
Experience conducting Failure Analysis and defining Corrective Actions
