Job Title: Resource Project Management Intern

Location: Blacksburg, VA

ABOUT 1901 GROUP:

1901 Group provides IT services using an integrated cloud-based platform that enables monitoring, management, and optimization of IT environments that span on premise, co-location, and cloud computing environments. Our "as a service" model (XaaS) embeds all the people, processes and technology necessary to deliver highly efficient IT services on a 24x7x365 basis.

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The purpose of the job is to work with 1901 Group's resource management and project operations team in support of our internal projects, Federal Government and commercial customers by supporting project efforts for IT engagements. Our interns will be given first-hand experience with a professional service delivery organization and understand the layers of a multi-level infrastructure support team. This role is an internship opportunity and will only offer 20 hours per week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and update project schedules with the resource management and client project teams
  • Maintain effective relationships with supporting project staff
  • Create and maintain project reporting for current prioritized internal projects and client projects
  • Manage, from beginning to end, internal technical projects that cross our various functional areas
  • Create and maintain process documentation related to project process, technical processes, etc.
  • Help with reporting on our service level agreements (SLA)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • 1+ years of related and progressive experience
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Fluent communication skills of written and verbal English
  • Solid computing skills and administrative experience including MS Office tools
  • A team player who can collaborate effectively
  • Quality focus and eye for detail
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills
  • Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with varying demands
  • Client-focused service experience

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Project Management experience
  • Basic understanding of Agile project management

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

High School Diploma or equivalent
