    As an intern at Minco, you will work closely with our engineers in an environment that allows you to learn and apply new knowledge and skills which will help you to prepare for a fulfilling engineering career. This is an exciting opportunity to get real life experience in a manufacturing environment. This person will assist the department with engineering tasks in an effort to learn fundamental engineering techniques and responsibilities as they relate to the design and production of heaters, flex circuits, sensors, or instruments.

    This will be a full-time internship during the Summer of 2020.

    Responsibilities
    • Design of product, tooling and test fixtures, running engineering tests, part inspection, failure analysis, and process characterization
    • Product and process testing, research materials and equipment, create test plans, time studies, and write test reports
    • Apply technical engineering principles and practices to review and recommend methods to collect and analyze manufacturing data
    • Meet with production technicians, internal customers, or other engineers to understand production requirements, objectives, timelines, and project tasks
    • Participate in design, process, and continuous improvement projects that impact limited production function
    • Work within objectives and timelines, and involves engineering or production personnel as required to complete tasks
    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Actively enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program
    • Sophomore level completed toward an engineering degree

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with analysis tools and test/inspection hardware and software
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Computer skills; Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and other applicable applications including 3D CAD packages (SolidWorks, ProE or similar)
    • Ability to work 10 to 20 hours per week during school year

    Internships are considered temporary positions and are located at our headquarters in Fridley, MN.
