Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) is poised to be the leading IOT Company in the world. The Solution Architect position is integral part of our Building Wide Systems Integration (BWSI) solutions business, which has been recently rebranded to Johnson Controls Connected Technologies business unit.

Our Connected Technologies Division is JCI's lead in the built IOT environment. With the growth and explosion of connected devices/IOT this business is growing so fast we're adding positions to our teams throughout the US.

We are helping our customers create state of the art "smart buildings" and occupant experiences by delivering and designing the vision for the most up to date and holistic technology solutions for buildings.


This is a Virtual role.

What you will do

Johnson Controls Technology and Sales Engineering team delivers smart buildings for customers, working from early engagement of the Ideation sessions, planning & design, implementation, through Life-cycle management and replacement. The solution architecture team develops multiple projects across multiple priority verticals. Working closely with sales engineering, product engineering and field sales, leading the solution architecture of smart building, which includes building systems, business Systems (IT systems) and vertical market systems.

As a key members of the Solution Architect Team, you will partner with some of the best minds in the industry to create innovative quality solutions focused on clients' business needs. Through the cultivation of teamwork, leading building & system knowledge of JCI & its well established partner ecosystem, coupled with industry best business practices, your area of expertise will deliver solutions architecture that will differentiation & delivery on aggressive growth objectives.

The Solution Architect Team will leverage and identify opportunities to accelerate customer's digital transformation and increase their IT infrastructure stability and reliability. Helping customers in transitioning to new Digital Solutions to drive the true purpose of their buildings.

How you will do it

Delivering smart buildings for customers, working from early engagement of Ideation, planning and design, implementation, through Life-cycle management and replacement

Solution Architecture team with concentration around Data, Digital Security and Software architecture area of expertise and privilege of focus.

The Solution Architects work closely with sales engineering, Product engineering and field sales, leading them you will architect smart building solutions which include building systems, business Systems (IT systems) and vertical market systems

Solution Architect team members will focus on clients' business needs. Incorporating leading edge products and technology, coupled with industry and business skills, to influence clients

Delivering solutions for customer outcomes by enabling technology design. Once the customer's desired experience is mapped out then the architect delivers solutions in response to specific business opportunities.

The Solution Architect, will leverage technical skills, absorb professional knowledge quickly and performs assigned technical tasks including study, analysis, prototyping to prove out a hard problem and the ability to work details including data and integration mapping

The Solution Architecture will lead the work product to identify opportunities and define plans to grow and accelerate customer's digital transformation and increase their IT infrastructure stability and reliability

Lead customers in transitioning to new Digital Solutions capabilities and/or assisting with implementing initial partner capabilities to drive improved customer experiences and efficiency

The Solutions Architect is responsible for monthly operations reviews and reporting on work product leading & lagging KPIs

A primary objective of the Solution Architect Team is to drive higher product value and margin in our customer base

The Solution Architect will develop and support a standard set of deliverables, documents and base outputs for his team and the field Operations team to use in the implementation process.


Qualifications

What we look for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field

At least 5-10 years of relevant IT experience, including exposure to business planning, systems analysis and application development.

Experience in cloud architecture, social, mobile, analytics and security. Enterprise Architecture and/or Integration Architecture experience should be demonstrated to include Event-Driven architecture, middleware, systems/infrastructure, applications, databases, and performance tuning.

CCIE, CCA or other industry leading solution architecture certifications based on area of expertise and focus.

Proficiency in a broad set of information technology tools, methods and architectures, architecture expertise in multiple application platforms, and an understanding of current or future technical applications and architectures being driven by an industry.

Strong development skills, agile CI/CD knowledge, experience in development of micro-services with pluggability into multiple environments for testing purposes, problem solving, and development are required to be effective in the role.

Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business.

Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills.

Demonstrated ability to influence account decision makers at key levels.
